After reading Laura's 'Then & Now' post I started having a look through some of my old photo's. I came across some that show my true skin colour. I was about 18 at the time and not into fake tan, so these pics will show you how truly white I am!
I do actually quite like how I look here, but personally I find is so difficult and time consuming to try and look good with such pale skin. I find it really difiicult to conceal and not look completely washed out (plus trying to find any foundation that actually matches my skin colour!) Also it's strange, because although I am so very pale in winter, show me some sun and I tan really easily into a deep bronze colour, I've never been one for burning.
The main reason I fake tan now is because of my legs. I love wearing mini dresses/skirts/shorts and I find a pair of long bronzed pins a lot more appealing than chalk white pasty ones! So if I have tanned legs I need the rest of my to match!
I totally understand. I have Canadian white skin, dark brown hair (that I have been dying lighter since I was 16) and blue eyes. I have always thought that I look like snow white naturally. You of course look beautiful.

I suppose you have a point about the legs though. But your natural colour is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteMaybe I am a little bit biased towards pale skin though as I am a redhead so it's white all the way for me! lol
I do fake tan but quite light and only for special occassions, not every day mainly because I'm too lazy.
I think you look stunning as a paley!

Hi Amy, I know this comment response is very late, but I'm only just now discovering your blog! (I really enjoy it, by the way). I think you look beautiful both ways. I can TOTALLY relate though. It seems like we have very similar coloring. I think our skin color is almost identical, and I too tan easily in the summer without burning. We have similar hair and eye color as well! I have been using Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals ID foundation in Fairly Light for years now - it's the only foundation that doesn't make me look ghostly. It actually gives me a nice golden look, while sticking to my natural undertones. Check out my blog if you'd like to compare! ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I forgot to mention that I love the shape of your lips! lol, I know that a weird thing to say, but I've never been very fond of my tiny shapeless lips, so I find yours very pretty!
