The colour is a gorgeous pink based natural color with a hint of mauve. It's the perfect colour for me as it's not too pale and not too bright, just a lovely shade that doesn't vary too much from my natural lip colour. A more muted pink can be achieved if this is worn on top of a nude shade like MAC's Creme d' Nude or with The Body Shop's Tantalising Lip Butter on top for a more milky colour.
The consistency of these pencils is one of the best things about them. They are incredibly creamy and soft so they only needed to be applied with a light hand. For this reason they glide beautifully and don't drag along the lips. Not only perfectly creamy, but highly pigmented too. In fact I'd go as far to say this pencil is just as pigmented as my MAC lipsticks and Rouge Volupte. Amazing!
Finally, this pencil has amazing staying power, better than any other lipstick I've ever used. I apply it in the morning and it's still there in the afternoon, even after eating and drinking (albeit a little faded). Therefore there's no need to constantly re-apply, perhaps the reason why I've had this almost a year and it's still going strong! Despite the fact this lip colour is long lasting, I've never had a prolem with it drying out my lips, another bonus.
I purchased mine from MsCuppyCakes for just $3.00 but NYX products are also available at Cherry Culture, some House of Fraser stores and ebay.
I'll be looking to try some other colours next to see if they are just as fabulous as this one.
Has anybody else tried the NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils?
It looks lovely! Must try some NYX xx
ReplyDeleteI have tried the eyeshadow and lip pencils... I love one of the eyeshadows as it looks so lovely paired with something else but the others i don't really like as much they look too chalky and crease.. The lip pencil is another fail :( i didn't enjoy the feeling on my lips felt wierd and leaves my lips very dry, i did however like the colour but it did give a little washed out effect
ReplyDeleteyes i have tried this shade and still in love ♥ Its so flattering on you :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous girly. the color works perfectly for you! xox
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly like you, I want to be able to use barry m 101, gosh darling and so on but they just don't suit me unlike lipsticks like this one which are just perfect, will definitely be buying this one! thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I have a couple of their pencils but when I buy online I can't get the shades right. For instance, I bought pink nude and it was a horrible icy frosted pink. This shade looks gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteThat colour really suits you. I'm not so fond of lipsticks either so I might have to check these out.
ReplyDeleteI haven't, but I really want to! This looks lovely, I love the peachy colour.
ReplyDeletewow,looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, ive never tried pencil before but it looks gorgeous!

ReplyDelete@Eliza-Shipping took about 8 days, I was very impressed with the service! The P&P is cheaper than Cherry Culture too :) x
Thats the colour I would go for, lovely. I wish they sold nyx near me as I dont really like ordering makeup online. I agree too with nude lips! theres a slight few I can get away with otherwise I look like a zombie! xx
ReplyDeleteI've never tried these but had been wondering about them. Glad to finally hear a review! I will definitely be ordering some! :)
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! <3
ReplyDeleteyou are stunning.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning with this, you 're making me wanting to try it out for myself now! :)

I agree with the nude lips thing too, I received the YSL #2 sensual silk I ordered yesterday and Im gutted as its the usual story and it doesn't suit me, maybe in the Summer? Who knows, but I cant waste that much money!
ReplyDeleteI think the closest I will get to a nude is with the Maybelline nude range, its called 'Pinky beige' and I love it!
Would love to try the NYX one though as it looks lovely on you, it reminds me of the Clinique chubby stick I used to buy, and also the Maybeline lip express in Mauvy pink I think its called? I must have about 6 back up's of that! :)
I really like your make up, not too much but accentuating really well. Nice picture
