Liz Earle: Superskin Moisturiser & Superbalm

Following on from review of Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish and Instant Boost Skin Tonic, here are my thoughts on the two other products I received...

♥ Superbalm

(£15.00 for 30g)

I was excited to try this as it's had great reviews on Makeup Alley and claims to be a multi-use product. Described as an emergency skin salve, this product is made from pure plant oils, natural waxes and shea butter (a more detailed ingredient list can be found here) and can be used for anything and everything. Lips, dry skin, cuticles, spots - Superbalm's ingredients soften and calm skin.

My first thought when I opened this was that I wasn't too keen on the smell. A quick scan of the ingredients and I put it down to it containing lavender essential oil. However, I wanted to see if it lived up to its claims so I used it anyway. I must say I've got used to the scent now and I no longer dislike it.

This product came along at a good time. I was suffering from a cold and wanted to see if it prevented my nose from becoming red, sore and raw; the inevitable result of continual contact with tissues. I applied this balm throughout the day and it really did soothe my skin and stopped the skin on my nose from becoming cracked and peeling, which is what usually happens to me after a cold.

I've also used this on my lips, my fiance's dry skin, my brows and my cuticles, and it has worked wonders. This is also available in a smaller 5g pot (priced at £4.50) which would be a great little essential to carry in your hand bag.

♥ Superskin Moisturiser

(£31.50 for a 50ml jar)
This is a rich, luxurious, fragrance-free cream, and although formulated to rejuvenate mature or dry skin (neither which I have) I've used this cream every night since receiving it and I love it. It continues to leave my skin feeling silky soft and noticeably plumper. Since using it I've actually started to like my makeup-free face, something which has never happened before! Due to the thick consistency, only a small amount is needed so I think this should last a while.

I truly love this cream but I only realised the price of it when I came to write this review. It's too pricey for me to continuously repurchase but I'll definitely be buying this again as a treat every once in a while.

Overall, I've loved my experience with Liz Earle and I'll be exploring the brand further on the search for more fantastic products.
