Drive Time

(image from weheartit.com)
I only recently started driving lessons at the ripe old age of 24. Luckily, I picked it up quickly but the instructor I had was holding me back so I cancelled the remainder of my lessons and looked elsewhere. The bad experience I had made me realise the importance of picking the right driving school. Whether you're a quick learner, a nervous driver or someone who's had a bad experience, finding the right instructor for you is essential for becoming a confident, safe driver.

RED Driving School is trying to raise awareness about their ongoing commitment to safe driving. RED believes that road safety education is paramount and is committed to working with organisations, including the road safety charity Brake and young people (in particular between the ages of 17 and 24 who are more likely to be involved in a road traffic crash than any other age group in the UK).

RED’s Road Safety team are always on the move, visiting towns and cities across the UK with its team of safety experts to discuss good driver attitudes, speeding and the enduring topic of drink and drug driving with those learning to drive and those who have already passed their driving test.
Road crashes are the biggest cause of death and disability amongst young people and sadly I've known more than a few people who have been involved in fatal accidents so I think what RED is doing is fabulous. The more we know about safe driving, the better.

  1. Oh my goodness! I could not agree more. My first driving instructor didn't teach me a thing (and gave me a whole load of wrong information)... He was running a business more than anything and made me do a gazillion lessons before applying for a test date for me. Since I didn't actually learn anything except to drive and brake, I failed my test. That threw me a little and I only plucked up enough courage to call another instructor today - she comes highly recommended so I should be better off with her. Fingers crossed!

  2. Completely agree. My first instructor was so strict that I was literally sick with nerves before every lesson. I actually made my Mum call him and tell him I wouldn't be coming back.
Then I got a lovely instructor, very encouraging and driving became something I really enjoyed/ enjoy xx
