I posted earlier on in the year about my hair predicament, when I was wondering what to do in terms of cut and colour to escape the hair rut I was in. In the end, I decided to stick with my long locks rather than go for the chop, and experimented with the colour instead. The ombre hair trend has been around for years now, and after embracing the look on a number of occasions due to how easy the DIY process is for a quick transformation, I'd grown a bit tired of the trend, and tried out a temporary mahogany colour, reminiscent of my late teen years.
Now it's all washed out, I've found I'm back in that familiar hairstyle rut, so I've once again turned to celebrities for some hair inspiration! I'm always lusting after various celebrities enviable 'dos and using Pinterest to collaborate anything and everything which takes my fancy. My current hair crush is Cheryl Cole, after watching her Call My Name video when it was first released a few months ago. There's no doubt Cheryl's lovely locks have been enhanced with some fantastic hair extensions in London, but what really drew me to her style was her new fringe (or bangs if you're American!) After watching the music video several times, I knew I wanted a fringe. I headed off in search of some more celebrity fringe-spiration and came across the beautiful Rachel McAdams, Jennifer Aniston from her Marley & Me filming days and Jennifer Lopez. These soft half fringes aren't as drastic or as high maintenance as a blunt fringe, but still enough of a change to give hair a new lease of life!
Now I've decided what I want done, it's a matter of going ahead and doing it. Although there are a plethora of fabulous hairdressers in London, finding a decent salon in my local area is something of a minefield and I don't know where to begin. I've yet to have a haircut I've actually liked so I'm a little apprehensive about going (and I must guiltily admit it's been around a year and half since I last visited a hairdresser, thanks to a disastrous experience just a mere few months before our wedding.) Needless to say, my hair is in desperate need of a revamp and I'm looking forward to a fresh new look for Autumn!
