New Year Skincare Products

I’ve started the new year as I mean to go on – with a new skincare regime! These are the products I’ve been using lately…

Benefit Foamingly Gentle Facial Wash – £16.50

I hadn’t used a face wash since I was a teenager, favouring creamy cleansers and scrubs instead, but Benefit’s Facial Wash has reminded me just how lovely they can be. This is ideal when I want to quickly freshen up my face, rather than go through the rigamarole of using Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish. With a fruity and fresh scent, only a small amount is needed for a good amount of foaming, and it’s really helped clear up the blemishes on my chin and leaves my skin soft and smooth. I also found it to be surprisingly impressive at removing makeup!

Benefit Remove It – £16.50

Benefit are known for their lovely packaging, and Remove It Makeup Remover is no exception, I love the glass-effect bottle paired with the cork-like lid. This gently scented remover sweeps off makeup and waterproof mascara with ease, without leaving an oily residue. It’s sensitive enough to use on the eyes (essential for me as a contact lens wearer) and leaves skin fresh. The only downside is the opening, which means caution needs to be taken when pouring it onto cotton wool.

L’Occitane Shea Honey Whipped Body Cream – £16

This limited edition body cream combines nourishing shea butter with the delicious scent of honey for a sweet treat. I love the whipped texture of this body cream, it’s light as air and melts into the skin, leaving it silky smooth and ever so soft. A little of this goes a long way so the price is justified, and it’s perfect for the winter months – moisturising and protecting skin whilst leaving a soft and warm honey scent on the body.
Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It – £7.50
This minty multi-tasking scrub is a fabulous product for my combination skin. Designed to refine large pores and prevent blemishes, it can either be used as a quick scrub or applied in a thin layer and left for 3 minutes to work as an oil-absorbing, pore cleansing mask. Ideal for sorting out my t-zone! After using this as mask, my skin is left mattified yet moisturised – I can’t fault it.
