Philips ReAura – An Update

Back in July, I posted about the journey I was about to embark on with the Philips ReAura Laser Skin Rejuvenation. As I’m only in my 20s, I don’t yet have wrinkles to complain about, so I was more focused on whether this device could give me a more even skin tone and texture with a reduction in blemishes. I was a little apprehensive when using this for the first time, but after watching the DVD and reading the manual, I felt prepared to start! To begin the process, skin needs to be gently cleansed, before applying a small amount of gel to the area to be treated (in my case, the face – although the neck, chest and hands can also be targeted), which allows for smooth movement over the skin. The device has three settings – the lowest being a practice test mode, and setting 3 being the highest for optimum results. After a few practice runs, the device is simple to use and I was quick to establish a twice-weekly process where I integrated the Reaura into my usual skincare routine.
There are some beauty treatments which the phrase ‘no pain, no gain’ can be applied to, and this is one of them. I’d read using the ReAura was uncomfortable, and I’d describe the sensation as something akin to mild sunburn – prickly, tingly and slightly tender, but I was reassured this was a normal reaction to the treatment and my skin would recover. After each session, I apply a generous amount of the after care solution, which provides some relief by cooling and soothing the skin. As skin can be left a little on the red side after use, I save the treatment for use in evenings when I know I can allow my skin to recover afterwards.
Although I haven’t yet seen a difference in my skin, it certainly feels noticeably more plump and smooth, which is down to the laser encouraging cell renewal in the deeper layers of the skin. The softness of my skin after using the Reaura is enough reason alone for me to look past the pain element and continue with the treatment. It’s recommended this treatment is used twice a week for eight weeks so I shall be updating again shortly with my final thoughts. Until then, do let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer them.

Hmm, not sure it would work on scars, I think it's more for anti-ageing and reducing the appearance of fine lines. x

I am interested in trying it out. I have a few blemishes that I would like to get rid but it seems that the products that I have tried don't seem to work. I would like to try this and see how it will work on my skin. How many sessions does it takes to make the blemishes go away? like in your case?

They advise using it twice a week for at least 8 weeks so I think that would be the minimum amount before a difference would be noticed. x

I heard this is a good product for anti-ageing treatment. Is this helps me to get rid of wrinkles?

welcome
